Welcome to the Los Angeles Training Institute for Alcohol & Drug Counseling

We offer the Alcohol and Drug Counselor Certificate Program for those who want to prepare to become a counselor. We also provide continuing education units for already certified counselors.


Certified alcohol and drug counselors work within an array of settings, such as outpatient/residential drug treatment centers, hospitals, colleges, churches, and government agencies. If you ever dreamed of being in the helping field, now is the time! Classes are limited!


CERTIFICATE IN ALCOHOL AND DRUG COUNSELING:

The Alcohol and Drug Counselor Certificate Program consists of 11 modules of instruction, plus 45 hours of supervised practicum and minimum of 255 hours of on-site clinical instruction designed around your schedule.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants must have completed high school or have a GED. If the applicant is a recovering substance abuser, two years of continuous sobriety is highly recommended. Prospective students must complete an application form and write a 1-2 page essay on why you are interested in becoming an Alcohol & Drug Counselor.


CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (CEU'S):

We offer 10 week CEU training workshops for Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors or anyone that would like to receive a certificate. Upon completion, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors will earn 20 CEU's. Click here for more information.


The Los Angeles Training Institute for Alcohol & Drug Counseling is an Approved Continuing Education Unit (CEU) provider for CCAPP (formerly CAADAC), and CADTP.
